Premier surfing destination
Being surrounded by water makes the island an ideal surfing location. There are many reef breaks, some world-standard, and countless beach break locations for all standards of surfer.

MotoGP
The first motorcycle races were held on Phillip Island in 1931 and a permanent track was built in 1956. The current MotoGP became a regular fixture from 1997 onwards. The Phillip Island circuit is blessed with breathtaking scenery and beautiful ocean views and provides some of the most spectacular racing in the MotoGP season.

There are many riding tracks to explore – maps are available at the island’s Information Centre.
Walking tracks
With so many walking tracks, the island’s the stunning coastline and wildlife are ready for you to discover. A must-do is Pyramid Rock, and the The George Bass Coastal Walk is one of the top ten in Australia.
Fishing and boating
There is good surf fishing on the many beaches, or fish from the rocks, jetties, pier or from a boat. Surrounded by water, the island is a premier destination for boating enthusiasts. Charter boats are available.
